Ride the Dirt Wave
About the Race
Oregon’s only Enduro race series is back for its fourth year! Ride the Dirt Wave is a true Enduro challenge on some of the best trails in the Pacific Northwest. We have handpicked the best terrain at each venue to create courses that will push your skills and stamina while delivering an unforgettable experience at every stop.
Each race is limited to 100 riders. Racers compete individually in age and class divisions and complete two timed runs on the course. Your best time counts. Points are awarded to the top 10 overall finishers at each event and accumulate across all three races. You must compete in all three events to be eligible for the Champion of the Dirt Wave Series title, which will be awarded after the final race in Newport.
Series Points
The top 10 overall finishers at each event, for both acoustic bikes and e-bikes, earn points toward the series total. Category (Cat 1 or Cat 2) and age group do not factor into series points. Only overall finishing time counts.
1st: 100 points 2nd: 80 points 3rd: 60 points 4th: 50 points 5th: 40 points 6th: 35 points 7th: 30 points 8th: 25 points 9th: 20 points 10th: 15 points
Category Descriptions
Please read the following descriptions carefully to determine which category is right for you. We also recommend reviewing the Trailforks information for each venue as the courses differ in difficulty, length, elevation, and terrain.
Cat 1 (Expert): Highly skilled riders who are comfortable with a wide range of trail obstacles including steep and loose terrain, technical rock gardens, and Black Diamond trails that may feature jump lines and larger obstacles. Cat 1 Expert is the competitive category. Cash prizes are awarded to the top overall male and female Cat 1 Expert finisher at each event.
Cat 2 (Sport): Riders who can handle technical terrain, smaller jumps and drops, and are skilled at cornering. Sport riders are capable of completing most trails without walking a section but may choose to go around larger jumps or drops. Racing experience is not required for Cat 2.
